Our Work

The Pathway, the Method, Coaching & Community, and Coordinators on the ground

The Pathway

From uncertainty to opportunity, in six stages

A single continuous process, in which each stage prepares the next.

  1. Explore anonymously

Browse everything with no registration and a quick-exit button always in reach.

  2. Check your options

The private calculator estimates your training pathway, support package, and loan range.

  3. Enroll voluntarily

On your terms — after speaking with free legal aid, which we help you find.

  4. Train & certify

Years of real U.S. work become certified skills, a business plan, and financial literacy.

  5. Relocate with dignity

Travel, temporary housing, and a local partner waiting at arrival. A homecoming.

  6. Launch, hire & repay

A startup micro-loan and a mentor. Your repayment funds the next returnee's rise.

The Method

What enables a return to endure

Most returns don't fail for lack of willingness. They fail in predictable places — the first ninety days, the lonely business, the family left unprepared, the one bad season with nobody to call. We designed against each of them.

👥

Groups that guarantee each other

Participants are grouped by trade and register together as a cooperative or joint enterprise. Shared capital, shared customers, shared guarantee — the model microfinance proved worldwide: peers who vouch for each other repay far more reliably than individuals alone.

🎯

Anchor sectors, not random businesses

In each country we identify two or three sectors where returnee skills meet real local demand — agro-processing, aquaculture, construction, cold chain, hospitality, transport. Nobody is funded to open the fourth barbershop on the same street — and nobody is sent home to subsistence work.

🧳

The first 90 days protocol

A landing kit before departure: documents in order, a bank account and mobile money opened, a local SIM, a place to sleep, a coordinator meeting on day two, and a written 90-day plan. The window that decides everything is the one we prepare hardest for.

👨‍👩‍👧

The whole family, not just the worker

School places for the children, a plan for a partner's work, and honest conversations about what home will feel like. Returns unravel around the family long before they unravel around the business.

🛒

The diaspora as first customers

Returnee businesses launch with buyers already waiting — diaspora networks, hometown associations, and other GHCRI enterprises across continents buying from one another. Revenue from week one, not month twelve.

🎓

Every business trains apprentices

Each funded enterprise takes on local young people as apprentices. That is how one return becomes many futures — and how the next generation gains a reason to build here instead of leaving.

🧠

Peer support, and real professionals when needed

Trained peer supporters who have lived the same pressure, plus referral to licensed mental-health professionals when that's what someone needs. We coach; we don't pretend to treat.

🔄

A restart, not abandonment

Some businesses will fail — that is true of business everywhere. A first failure means a review, a restructured plan and a second attempt, not a closed file. Nobody is dropped for one bad season.

🏁

Graduation — and then you coach

Clear milestones: doors open, first customers, first hire, loan repaid. Reaching them makes you an alumnus — and alumni become the coaches and the network for whoever lands next.

Every element above is measured and published on our Promises & Proof dashboard — including the ones that don't work. A method only earns trust if its failures are visible too.

Coaching & Community

No one rises alone

Leaving everything and starting from zero is the hardest thing a person can do. Skills and capital build the business — mindset keeps it alive. That's why coaching and community are built into every pathway.

Coaching is delivered with a world-class performance-coaching partner.

Returnee forums & groups

Private WhatsApp groups and forums by country and industry — ask anything, share wins, get lifted on hard days.

🤝

Returnee associations

Local chapters that meet, mentor, celebrate launches — and pledge to lift the next returnee who lands.

🏅

Alumni coaches

Successful returnees train to become the next generation of coaches — the ones who've walked the road.

Coordinators

Our sustained presence on the ground

Coordinators — in the U.S. and in home countries — are how the dream stays alive after arrival. They are our eyes and hands: each coordinator walks with a small cohort of returnees.

📍

Check in, in person

Regular visits and calls: how is the business, the family, the plan?
